Paintings
Newcastle Nightshots
These recent hard-edge paintings originated as an idea during the Covid lockdown of 2021. The seed of the idea came from spending a lot of time indoors and finding alternate ways of viewing my immediate environment by analysing the geometry of internal staircases and ceilings. The investigation expanded into the linear works, some of which are attempts at land scapes to be found in far West NSW and the luminous reflections off the surface of Lake Macquarie on a still and silent summer night. The orbital paintings play with the idea of having no specific or correct point of orientation to view the painting.
