These shots were all taken around the Newcastle and the Hunter Port during

the night of a full moon in the winter of 1985.
The night was cold and very windy as can be seen by the smoke pouring out of

the stacks  blown by a heavy westerly gale.

 

The images were shot with Kodak ectachrome film on a Ricoh 35mm

SLR camera that was set on a tripod with bracketed
I timed the exposures between 30 seconds and 2 minutes.

By the turn of the 21st century much of this industrial landscape had disappeared although the  the harbour docklands remain mostly the same.​
