The Sydney Jewish Museum is a place that every Australian from high school age up, should visit. The museum holds artefacts, documents, testaments and photographs that serve as a warning and reminder as to the depths of depravity that humans humans can sink.

The museum also holds the documented history of Jewish settlement in Australia, of which some of my 19th century ancestors are included. If my mother had been born in Europe then it is likely she would have ended up as soap or smoke. Myself and my siblings may have escaped due to vagaries of the notorious Nuremberg laws.

The attempted destruction of European Jews is not the only genocide to have occurred throughout the 20th and 21st Centuries . Before the holocaust we had the Armenian Genocide, the Syrian Genocide, the Russian Kulak Genocide, the 1st Chinese genocide, the second Chinese Genocide, the Cambodian Genocide, The Rwandan Genocide and now in the 21st Century it seems that we have come full circle and are witnessing a Palestinian Genocide, perpetrated by The state of Israel. The haven and homeland of holocaust survivors.
